FEDERAL INCOME TAX LITIGATION      back

The Firm's tax litigation practice involves representing taxpayers in civil and criminal tax controversies at all levels. The Firm regularly represents taxpayers in civil matters before the Internal Revenue Service Examination and Appeals Divisions. When a tax dispute cannot be resolved at these administrative levels, the Firm regularly litigates the dispute before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, U.S. Claims Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and the U.S. Courts of Appeal.
To ensure a comprehensive approach to a tax dispute, the Firm's tax litigators routinely collaborate with clients' accountants, in-house counsel and financial advisors. Significantly, all of the Firm's tax litigators possess a substantive knowledge of tax law and a detailed understanding of the procedural issues involved in tax disputes. This unusual combination of substantive and procedural knowledge enables the Firm's tax litigators to develop creative strategies for resolving sophisticated tax problems.
